The Armadillo
Radio Hour is a showcase of the
Texas music scene, kinda like a good belch follows a bowl of chili.
From Willie & Waylon to Pat & Cory, Delbert McClinton,
Charlie Robison, Asleep at the Wheel, Jerry Jeff, Ray Price, Kelly
Willis, etcetera, etcetera. Texas Music and entertainment that
goes beyond bumper bites. Each week we feature a different artist
and her/his music to spotlight and fawn over. Just to keep the
balance, we add the "Best of the Rest," just in case
there's any musical talent lurking in the other 49 states (not
likely, but possible, and worth the experiment).
Steve
& Harley are two different people inhabiting the same pathetic
life. It's true, the humor is rip-snortin' good, but the boys
know how to keep it clean. "Our humor is from the neck up,
not the waist down." With Steve, that would start at about
the chin. Harley, on the other hand, apparently does have a separately
defined neck. Anyway, your kids can listen, and might even pick
up a couple of highly sought after social niceties.
Before
the network gig was cashflowing, these boys worked around a bit.
Fort Worth, New Orleans, Houston, New York , and Luckenbach. Nobody's
quite sure what to call this particular type of entertainment.
It's a good bit of music. They talk enough to keep you paying
attention. Whatever this mess is, it's durn near 100% Texan. And
that makes it a whole lot better than good.
